Frederica von Stade is a world-renowned mezzo-soprano famed for her performances in opera, concert work, and recitals. Composers including Jake Heggie, Dominick Argento, Richard Danielpour, Ricky Ian Gordon, and Conrad Susa have written everything from opera roles to song cycles for her, often with her close collaboration.

Von Stade is the Kunkemueller Artist in Residence at Boston Conservatory at Berklee this fall. She will be on campus from October 30–November 1, and will teach master classes, work with the cast of Jake Heggie's Dead Man Walking, and coach American art song in open one-on-one sessions. She will also hold a Q&A with students from Boston Conservatory's composition and voice programs on musical collaboration with living composers.

Von Stade's residency is made possible by the generosity of Pam Kunkemueller and the Kunkemueller Artist-in-Residence program at Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
